We used the designer trends hot off the runway at this year’s Spring Fashion Week, to inspire our New Height-Of-Fashion style and collection. We talk about the top 4 fashion and accessory trends of the season that we have brought to you in our tall collection. Here, we break down each runway and street style must-have, complete with spring fashion round-ups, outfit ideas, styling tips, and celebrity-inspired wardrobe that can be applied to your closet.
We have listed some of our must-buys from the runways, as well as the pull-outs from that other designers and fashion icons are using to keep up-to-date with their outfits and what’s in and what’s not.
Season Trend 1 - The Boyfriend Blazer
The boyfriend trend is definitely a hot property at the moment, especially the oversized fit. Despite its name, the boyfriend blazer is designed specifically keeping women in mind. It is one of those classic items of clothing that every woman should have in their wardrobe all year round. It is something that goes well with everything - every style, personality and piece of clothing - while also providing you with edge, confidence and comfort. In addition to being cut slightly larger than normal, it is still tailored for a female figure that transforms your outfit into cool, flattering and chic. It’s a relaxed style with and oversized jacket and slight macho silhouette. Just throw the blazer on top of a tee, jeans or a cutesy miniskirt (our faux leather is a must) and it automatically increases the class factor of the outfit from day to night or to the ‘hello’ city chic.
Season Trend 2 - Maxi Dress
A maxi dress should be a floor informal dress. Maxi dresses are a form fitting at the top and loose flowing at the bottom, cut to flow over the body. They are usually made out of cotton or polyester and come in a variety of necklines, colors, and patterns. Maxi dresses perfectly fit tall women, or should do. Except as we know this is an ongoing issue when you’re exceptionally tall. The design of them is feminine and for comfort. Let’s face it they are always a winner, never date and are downright gorgeous. They play a vital role in highlighting your curves and height, especially if you tie up a belt at the waistline. Whether it’s solid colors or floral prints, there isn’t much else you need to dress them with, except a pair of heel and confidence. When you’re tall – there is no way you can go unnoticed in a floor length maxi.
Season Trend 3 - Bodycon Dress
A body-con dress, deriving its name from body conscious, is a form of tight-fitting dress that is designed to highlight your curves and trace your silhouette. They are typically made from stretchy, light weight fabrics which make them ideal for wearing in warm weather. Their sexy fit which accentuates female body parts is what makes women attracted to the design especially with the Kardashian’s who reinvented and made the style popular again when it was last seen in the 80/90’s. You’ll notice a lot celebrities adorn the body-con dress during the awards or red carpet season, because they certainly help you stand out.
Season Trend 4 - Bomber Jackets
Bomber jackets are primarily inspired by the 60’s with doc martin boots and grungy attire. Starting off as a practical statement piece usually made of polyesters, leather or nylon, it has seen a constant evolve in recent years and now you’ll see worn by celebrities like Cara Delevingne, Zendaya and Kylie Jenner over a variety of outfits on nights out.
